The Main House

The Landscape
 
Over the years we have undertaken a number of projects to improve the property. The first was to build a seawall, of natural lake rocks and field stones, all along the shoreline. This improved the fish, frog and muskrat habitats, and also, secured the entire shoreline from potential erosion. After protecting the land at the water's edge, we set to work constructing a 6 foot high cedar fence all around the perimeter of the property. This satisfied our appreciation of complete privacy. The land was gently altered to have easy access to the water's edge from different locations. By raking small paths through the forest, the natural vegetation was able to flourish. As a final touch, 2 cedar docks were built; one larger at the centre of the property and one on the east side to service the Playhouse.
